6th Annual Fine Arts Show in Lincoln Hills!

The 2009 Fine Arts Show was held Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 at the Orchard Creek Lodge in Sun City Lincoln Hills.  Even with the rainy weather, the Fine Arts Show had a wonderful turnout of visitors, artists and art buyers.  71 artists entered over 200 pieces of art and 30 pieces of art were sold.  I am very proud to say that one of my paintings (as pictured above) was one of the 30 pieces of art sold!  In addition, several of my paintings will be available for viewing on the Lincoln Hills Arts Association Digital Picture Frame to be placed in the Orchard Creek Lodge.

The exciting motivation I have for drawing and oil painting started in my teen years.  My preferred medium is Oil and I use both brush and palette knife.  I enjoy painting landscapes and waterscapes onsite or from photographs I take of selected subject matter while traveling.

Both my wife Cleonice, also an artist, and myself continue to take every opportunity to expand our many learned techniques by pursuing professional art instruction and attending workshops.  We relocated to Lincoln Hills 2 years ago and both are active members in the Lincoln Hills Arts Association and also participate in many social functions and activities in the community.

As an Artist, the quality of my work is reflected in my paintings.  As a Broker Associate with Carolan Properties, my professional expertise has been recognized by many buyers and sellers as well as associates in the real estate sector.  When you are positioned as a buyer or seller, give me a call and experience the ultimate satisfaction associated with the artistry of a "picture perfect" real estate transaction.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The history of Valentine's Day is very interesting.  In the English-speaking countries, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering candy/chocolate.  Here are some fun facts:
  • About 1 billion Valentine's Day cards are exchanged in the US each year.
  • It is the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas.
  • Women purchase 85% of all valentines.
  • In the US, men spend an average twice as much money as women.
  • Worldwide, over 50 million roses are given for Valentine's Day each year.
  • 73% of people who buy flowers for Valentine's Day are men, while only 27% are women.
  • In order of popularity, Valentine's Day cards are given to teachers, children, mothers, wives, sweethearts and pets.
Enjoy Valentine's Day with your loved ones!

Feelin' the Love in Lincoln Hills!

This week while I was zooming around the community (re-filling flyers at our Listing at 2240 Cinnamon Teal Lane), I saw that several festive homes had lawn decorations in celebration of Valentine's Day.  Located where Loon Lake Lane meets Cinnamon Teal Lane (in Village 33), these homes all had large heart-shaped Valentines planted in their front yards.

By chance, Christine Berney pulled into her driveway while I was snapping some photos of the Valentines and give me the 'history of these darling lawn ornaments.  The wooden hearts are made by neighbors Roy Craig and Richard Latreille and are given as gifts at the neighborhood Christmas party.  The gift holders then personalized the hearts as they wished.

With sentiments such as: "Gary and Jeanette In LOVE since 1965", "Sylvia & Jay EST. 1987", "Jim & Christie Be My Valentine", "Dolly & Richard 1963" and "Tom and Sandy - Love, Live, Laugh", there is definitely no shortage of romance in Village 33!  Christine also said that this same group has fun on nearly every holiday.  She and her husband Jim moved here from the Bay Area in 2003 and just love it in Sun City Lincoln Hills!

Lincoln Hills Resident in the News!

I was very pleased to come across a lovely article in the Lincoln News Messenger (the primary newspaper for the residents of Lincoln, CA).  As I always say, who better to learn about the wonderful community than from other residents of Sun City Lincoln Hills?  Please click here to read the wonderful article about the Lincoln Hills Neighborhood Watch program and the residents that it brings together as friends.
