Lincoln Hills Airport Co-op!

One of the best kept secrets in Lincoln Hills is the Airport Co-op.  Founded in 1999 with 240 Sun City households as members this group runs like a well-oiled machine.  In fact, the group has been asked by other communities to show them their organizational "secrets".  The group's leaders are the infamous world travelers known as The Triple S's.  You'll see Sandra, Susan and Sheron's smiling faces on the homepage of the group's website.

The premise of this group is transportation for Sun City Lincoln Hills residents to and from the Sacramento International Airport.  Group members call the co-op secretary and request either service and the secretary matches the request to a willing group member.  New members must make a pick-up before they are eligible to be picked up or dropped off themselves.  The group even gives members double points for a late evening pick up!  The group fields an average of thirty to fifty requests per month.  Their website: www.lh-airportco-op.org has more details and info, please visit it and get in touch if you are interested.

Yearly dues for the Lincoln Hills Airport Co-op are $12.00.  What an incredible value for the members when you consider the Super Shuttle costs $60.00 per trip.  Not to mention how incredibly eco-friendly this is!

Fourth Annual Crab Feed in Lincoln, CA!

St. Joseph's Parish Council #9202, Knights of Columbus held their fourth annual crab feed last night at the McBean Pavilion in McBean Park in Lincoln.  As usual, it was a full house of nearly 440 people, most of whom were Sun City residents.  The evening got off to a great start with the Knights working the no-host bar and people catching up on all the goings-on since the holidays.  Soon after, Father took the microphone to give the blessing and we all took our seats in anticipation.  Everyone filled up on yummy clam chowder, linguini alfredo with shrimp, green salad, fresh rolls and for dessert, all-you-could-eat carrot cake and coffee!

After dinner the lights were dimmed and the deejay played "Unchained Melody", couples couldn't wait to put their arms around each other and dance the rest of the night away!  A super fun evening yet again... can't wait until next year!

Hot Jazz on a Cold Lincoln Hills Evening!

On Wednesday, January 7 multi-award winning Folsom High Jazz Band performed a fundraising concert in Sun City Lincoln Hills.   The Folsom 1 O'Clock Jazz Band as well as the Folsom Jazz A Choir performed to a crowded ballroom at the Orchard Creek Lodge.  Both the Band and Choir provided an evening of lively entertainment with the goal of raising money for music programs at Folsom High School.  Above is a short video with several small clips of their outstanding performance.
