Awesome Remodel on Secret Lake Loop!

Last April, Dennis and Kathy Graham of El Dorado Hills called me and said they wanted me to find them a "diamond in the rough".  They wanted to live in a place that offered a "friendly" country club type of lifestyle.  They were living in a newer custom home that had all of the latest in upgrades and wanted to replicate that here in Lincoln Hills.  They settled on a Meadowgate with a beautiful fairway view on one of Lincoln Hills' nicest streets.  The home had been built in 1999 and was in good condition.

Last Sunday, the Graham's opened their home to all of the neighbors on Secret Lake Loop.  While the live band played and neighbors nibbled on the lovely food and sipped wine, Dennis and Kathy were conducting tours of the house.  After nearly eighteen months, this home has undergone a total transformation and is simply gorgeous.  As you can see from the before and after pictures, the home now has a Tuscan feel.  No expense was spared and the home is truly "custom" now.  The master bath was remodeled as well as the home office.  A wine cellar was added as well as new floors, counters, appliances, fixtures and fireplace.  The kitchen was reconfigured and fitted out with miles of granite and looks like a million bucks!

My hat is off to Dennis and Kathy... it is a job well done!  As our homes in Lincoln Hills age, I think we will see more homes transitioning from standard, builder homes to custom, personalized homes.

Sheep in Lincoln Hills!

The community association in Lincoln Hills is handling the dry, seasonal grass issue with the use of goats and sheep.  Two hundred and forty to be exact!  One hundred seventy sheep and seventy goats are all happily grazing in some of the open space areas.

These animals are quite a sight to see, last week they were in the open space near Spring Valley Parkway and Village 35.  Many residents stopped in their cars and golf carts at the side of the road to watch.  Resident Rose Forbes said it reminded her 'of her childhood in Italy'.

Our sheep and goats are here from a farm in Oroville, CA.  Twenty four hours a day, a caretaker is on standby to supervise the animals.  Each day the temporary white wire fence that surrounds them is moved.  The fence is "hot" and will give a shock to the animals if they bump into it.  The fence also provides a protective barrier for the goats and sheep from coyotes at night.

Each one of these hungry creatures consume two pounds of grass per day!  They munch the grass right down to the ground!  It is both very efficient and eco-friendly.  Next week the goats and sheep will be in the open space south of Villages 36, 37 and 38.
