The most popular car in Lincoln Hills!

A fellow agent in our office came across this interesting video highlighting the growing trend of LSVs.  What is an LSV (Low Speed Vehicle)?  According to the Lincoln Hills LSV/NEV Group, it is a neighborhood electric vehicle that is larger than a golf cart, but smaller than most light-duty passenger vehicles.  They have top speeds between 20 and 25 miles per hour and can be driven on roads are posted at 35 miles per hour or less.

The location of services surrounding Lincoln Hills make it possible for residents to drive their LSVs almost everywhere.  There are two major grocery stores adjacent to the community as well as medical and dental facilities... even restaurants!  With gas prices continuing to rise, to is no wonder LSVs are attractive to everyone!

The Carolan Properties Tennis Team!

The Lincoln Hills Tennis Group of over 300 members is wrapping up a very active and successful 2008 program.  Along with numerous events within the group: Doubles, Singles, Mixed Doubles and Guest Tennis, the gang has many parties associated with tennis holiday events.  The Carolan Properties 7.0 Men's team is scheduled to play for the Northern California Championship on September 15-17 at the Harbor Bay Club in Alameda, California.  At the USTA Tennis for Life over 70 tournament in Sunnyvale, CA the Lincoln Hills Team only lost by only 2 points.  Our 3.0 Men's Team is scheduled to play in the National Championship on October 31st - November 2nd in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The Mixed 50 7.0 Team made the playoffs in Sacramento and the 50 6.0 Mixed Tam is playing in the Sectionals at the Tahoe Tennis Center in October.  Our Men's 8.0 Team went to the Nationals.  Other Teams doing well are Super Senior 60 7.0 A & B, Women's 5.5 A & B, Men's 6.5, and Men's 7.5.

Tennis is extremely popular in Lincoln Hills.  Currently there are eleven lit tennis courts with a covered sports pavilion overlooking Courts One and Two.  Sun City Lincoln Hills tennis fans also benefit with clinics and professional tennis with the Sacramento Capitals in nearby Roseville.

Senior Softball Playoffs!

The Lincoln Hills Softball League has nearly finished its 2008 season.  The Carolan Properties team went into the playoffs with a record of 12 wins, 13 loses and 1 tie game.  Led by managers Bill Rexrode and John Gho, the team had a blast!  Softball is a big deal in Lincoln Hills, there are a total of sixteen teams!  At most games the bleachers are packed with residents and family members cheering their loved ones on.  Lincoln Hills is priviledged to have a top notch venue with stadium bleachers and an elecronic scoreboard, as well as a state-of-the-art audio system.  Our hats are off to all of the many volunteers in Lincoln Hills who give their time generously to make Lincoln Hills Senior Softball the best!

We "Pump You Up!" in Lincoln Hills! :)

I was recently talking with my two children, comparing our workout routines ... and I feel SO LUCKY! They both bought memberships to gyms, one in Rocklin and one in Pleasanton, where they drive 4 and 8 miles to get there, respectively, and their memberships are a bit pricey, including high initiation fees, plus contracts to stay. Both of their gyms have one heavily chlorinated pool, and though they occasionally see a familiar face, everybody is lost in their own worlds and rarely take a few minutes to say hello ... and on and on.

Meanwhile, here in Lincoln Hills, my husband and I have the use of two fully equipped gyms, both close to home and both with very pleasant indoor pools and one with two outdoor pools, too! And, the equipment in both gyms was recenty updated. And best of all, I always feel welcome to talk to people. I actually look forward to our regular exercise time at the gym because of the people I've gotten to know and the very pleasant surroundings. Here are some pictures of me with just a couple of my workout friends, George and Gail. I'm sort of hooked on the elliptical trainer, and as you can see, they are trying to show me that a little time spent on machines is not painful! (I'm the one in the blue shirt looking on as George works on his biceps.) George does the full circuit almost every day, and ends it with a refreshing swim. Gail also uses each type of equipment, but chooses different stations one day at a time. Both have a nicely varied routine and have convinced me to spread my wings, too!

To top it off, both gyms offer great classes: Yoga, Sport Conditioning, Spin, and so on. I have taken classes from time to time when my time allows, and always enjoy it. Hopefully I can get a picture soon of me and my friend Carol at an aerobics class she frequents. And lastly, a bonus of coming to our gyms is the wonderful staff. Here's a picture of Hal, one of the monitors whose friendly face and good cheer helps us get in gear for our early morning wake-up workouts! I LOVE IT HERE! :)
